Procter & Gamble Co.’s injection molding technology subsidiary has expanded its public list of job openings to include several toolmaking-related positions and jobs that would entail hirees to work with multiple locations.
P&G launched Imflux last fall to develop innovative injection molding technology. The company has not delineated specifically what Imflux will do but it has filed numerous patents for injection molding technology, from materials to molds to low-pressure molding. The breadth of job functions it has advertised suggests at least some of the work will involve mold making, molding control technology and supervision of locations outside its Hamilton, Ohio, head office facility.
Imflux Inc. recently began advertising on its website mold-related positions for a CNC EDM machinist and programmer, a CNC machinist/programmer, CNC multi-axis mill turn operator, and mold making plant superintendent.
Other positions recently listed on its website include computer-aided manufacturing programmer, product supply plastic controls engineer, product supply plastic process engineer, customer care program management leader, and research and development technician/technical writer.
The mold making plant superintendent would work with the Imflux plant manager on design of equipment, processes and work systems for the Imflux manufacturing site.
The product supply and plastic controls engineer would be responsible for analog control solutions for injection molding machines. The successful applicant would lead multiple projects from integration and construction engineering to installation, start-up and commissioning of control systems on multiple machine platforms in multiple locations.
Imflux states the product supply plastic process engineer would be responsible for operating and improving “a breakthrough new polymer injection molding technology. This role will lead start-up support of this technology in multiple locations, and support ongoing development and improvement of key process parameters.”
Imflux continued to advertise a customer care technical leader position as of May 26.
In November, Imflux indicated it plans to begin production in summer of 2014 at its Hamilton operation.
Imflux describe in some job postings the type of individuals it is seeking.

Economic Development Blog has reported that Imflux will spend $50 million to purchase machinery and equipment. Imflux has a long-term lease for the former Hamilton Fixture facility on Symmes Rd. in Hamilton. The 318,000-square-foot building had been closed since May 2012. Imflux plans to create about 230 jobs at the site by 2017.
The Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved Imflux for a 60-percent, 8-year job creation tax credit worth about $2.6 million. The city of Hamilton offered to match that incentive and has also offered a $100,000 forgivable loan dependent on job creation. The city also will provide a 75 percent property tax abatement for a 10-year period, according to the ED blog. |
